Stephen King is one of the best horror writers ever. He wrote some of the greatest novels of all time including Carrie, Salem’s Lot, The Shining, Misery, Pet Sematary, and Stand By Me. His books have been adapted into films like The Shawshank Redemption, Firestarter, Cujo, The Green Mile, and Thinner.
He also wrote several short stories that were later turned into TV shows like Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Under the Dome, Mr Mercedes, and 11/22/63.
In addition to his writing, he’s also known for being a prolific screenwriter. He wrote the screenplay for the film Stand By Me, which was directed by Rob Reiner. He also wrote the script for the remake of The Shining, which starred Danny Lloyd.
King has written over 40 books since 1978. He’s won multiple awards for his work, including the Bram Stoker Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Horror Writers Association’s Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement, and the International Horror Guild’s Life Achievement Award.
